Cooperation for a data-driven circular economy in textile recycling

We are pleased to announce that since April 2025 we have been an official partner of the Recycling Ateliers Augsburg of the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (THA).

This collaboration marks a significant step towards a data-driven circular economy and underlines our commitment to sustainable solutions in the textile industry. As a leader in ERP systems for the textile industry, we are proud to be part of a partner network consisting of 13 industrial companies. Together we cover the entire process chain of mechanical textile recycling.

The focus of our cooperation is on analyzing the special requirements for software in textile recycling. Our software solutions are used in various stages of textile recycling - from recording incoming materials to process control and documentation of the end products.

Dr.-Ing. Georg Stegschuster, Head of the Recycling Atelier, emphasizes: "The software from update texware enables end-to-end process control by making the material flows transparent. This enables efficient control of resources in the recycling process. In addition, the targeted collection and analysis of process data supports systematic research into the process chain as well as quality assurance and helps to efficiently reintegrate valuable fiber materials into products. An important step towards a data-driven textile circular economy."

Prof. Mesut Cetin, Director of ITA Augsburg, adds: "The cooperation between Recycling Atelier Augsburg and update texware serves as the basis for a data-driven circular economy with the aim of a more sustainable textile industry. We and our partners are sending out a strong signal against fast fashion and the challenges associated with the declining quality of raw materials."

We at update texware are convinced that this partnership will not only help to improve recycling processes, but will also make an important contribution to creating a more sustainable textile industry. We look forward to the challenges ahead and the opportunity to work with our partners to develop innovative solutions that meet the demands of the future.
